Do Not Do This in Tijuana

A list of things that you definitely do not want to do in Tijuana.


While visiting Tijuana use common sense and behave.  You will have a great time if you don't make any mistakes.  Although this list is almost an obvious one, some actions or behavior can easily be misunderstood.  Tijuana is a friendly place for tourists to visit.  

• Do not bring a gun, bullets, or any other weapon to Mexico.  It is against the law to have a gun or anything that can be considered a weapon, even a box cutter utility knife.
• Do not bring narcotic drugs to Mexico and do not buy drugs in Mexico even prescription drugs in a pharmacy unless you are filling a prescription.
• Do not converse with anyone that tries to sell you drugs on the street.
• Do not take a girl to a hotel room or another private place without first checking her ID.  The legal age for sex is 18 years old.
• Do not carry an open container of beer or liquor on the street or in a car.
• Do not get into a physical fight with anyone.
• Don't be rude towards any Mexicans.
• Do not disrespect any police officer.  
• Do not try to pass counterfeit money.
